A driver operating a motor vehicle along a public roadway shall:

(a) Change lanes only when safe: Drivers shall ensure the lane is clear and the maneuver will not interfere with other traffic.

(b) Maintain proper lane position: Drivers shall avoid abrupt lateral movements and straddling lanes.

(c) Yield if necessary: Drivers shall yield to vehicles already occupying the target lane if required to complete the lane change safely.

Violation of this subsection constitutes a Level 4 Infraction.
