(4)6.6.1 Direct Examination
(a) Conduct.
Counsel shall elicit testimony from witnesses in a clear and orderly manner, limited to matters relevant to the charges or defenses.
(b) Scope.
- Questions must pertain to facts within the witness’s knowledge or expertise.
- Counsel may introduce exhibits or demonstratives as necessary, subject to authentication and court approval.
- Leading questions are generally not permitted on direct examination except for preliminary or uncontested matters.
