(6)7.1.8 Creating a False Report

A person is guilty of Creating a False Report under this subsection if he or she:

(a) Falsely reports an emergency situation causing an emergency response; or

(b) With knowledge that there is no active emergency, activates equipment typically reserved for alerting people to danger during emergency situations (such as, but not limited to, a fire alarm or emergency siren).

(c) This subsection does not apply to a horn on a motor vehicle or other such similar devices.

Creating a False Report is a Gross Misdemeanor.
