Any driver operating a motor vehicle along a public roadway shall:
(a) Activate the vehicle’s headlights from dusk until dawn, and at any other time when visibility is impaired by weather, smoke, fog, or environmental conditions.
(b) Use high-beam headlights when the roadway ahead is not sufficiently illuminated, provided that:
- The driver shall dim high-beam headlights when approaching oncoming traffic within 300 feet; and
- The driver shall dim high-beam headlights when following another vehicle within 150 feet.
(c) Operate headlights during daylight hours at the driver’s discretion; however, such operation shall not be mandatory unless otherwise specified under subsection (a).
Failure to comply with the headlight usage provisions of this section are a Level 1 Infraction.
