A person is guilty of Assault in the First Degree under this subsection if he or she assaults another person and:

(a) causes serious injury to the person; or

(b) intentionally impedes the normal breathing or circulation of blood of another person by applying pressure to the throat or neck, or by obstructing the nose or mouth; or

(c) assaults another person with a deadly weapon, firearm, or other dangerous instrument; or

(d) commits such assault in furtherance of or cooperation with a criminal organization or terrorism scheme.

Assault in the First Degree is a Class A- Felony .
