View source for (7)3.1.4 Merging

A [[(7)1.1_Definitions#(7)1.1.3_Driver|driver]] entering or merging onto a [[(7)1.1_Definitions#(7)1.1.13_Public_Roadway|public roadway]] shall:

(a) Yield to traffic already on the roadway, adjusting speed and position as necessary to merge safely.

(b) Merge smoothly: Drivers shall accelerate or decelerate as needed to merge without disrupting the normal flow of traffic.

(c) Maintain lane discipline: After merging, drivers shall remain in their lane unless safely and lawfully executing a lane change.

Violation of this subsection constitutes a <b>Level 3 Infraction</b>.
