(7)4.1.5 Tires & Brakes

A driver shall not operate a motor vehicle on a public roadway unless the vehicle’s tires and braking system are in safe and functional condition. Tire and brake requirements include:
(a) Tires must have sufficient tread depth, be properly inflated, free from visible damage, and suitable for the vehicle type and prevailing road conditions.
(b) Brakes must be fully operational, capable of stopping the vehicle safely under normal and emergency conditions, and maintained according to manufacturer specifications.
(c) Drivers shall inspect tires and brakes regularly and correct any deficiencies that could impair safe operation.
Violation of this subsection is a Level 2 Infraction.
