(7)4.1.2 Seatbelt Requirement

A driver and all passengers in a motor vehicle shall wear seatbelts while the vehicle is in motion on a public roadway. Seatbelt requirements include:

(a) Seatbelts must be properly fastened and adjusted for each occupant according to the manufacturer’s specifications.

(b) Drivers shall ensure that all passengers under their supervision are properly restrained before and during operation of the vehicle.

(c) Seatbelt usage applies to all seating positions equipped with safety restraints.

Violation of this subsection is a Level 5 Infraction.
