(7)3.3.2 School Zones & School Busses

A driver operating a motor vehicle on or near a public roadway shall:

(a) Obey reduced speed limits: Drivers shall comply with posted speed limits in school zones during designated hours or when children are present.

(b) Exercise heightened caution: Drivers shall be alert for children, crossing guards, and school personnel, and be prepared to stop if necessary.

(c) Stop for school buses: Drivers shall stop for a school bus displaying flashing red lights or a stop arm, regardless of the direction of approach, and remain stopped until the bus resumes motion and signals it is safe to proceed.

(d) Do not pass illegally: Drivers shall not overtake a stopped school bus or disregard any school zone traffic control device.

Violation of this subsection constitutes a Level 3 Infraction.
