(7)3.1.7 Left Lane Passing

A driver operating a motor vehicle along a public roadway shall:

(a) Keep right except to pass: Drivers shall use the left lane primarily for overtaking slower vehicles.

(b) Pass briefly and safely: Drivers shall not remain in the left lane longer than necessary to complete a safe passing maneuver and shall avoid excessive speed while passing.

(c) Return to the right lane: After overtaking, drivers shall return to the right lane when it is safe to do so.

Violation of this subsection constitutes a Level 1 Infraction.
