(7)3.1.6 Passing
A driver operating a motor vehicle along a public roadway shall:
(a) Pass only when safe: Drivers may overtake and pass another vehicle only when there is sufficient clear distance and visibility to complete the maneuver without endangering oncoming traffic.
(b) Pass on the left: Drivers shall generally pass slower vehicles on the left, except where specific roadway markings or regulations allow otherwise.
(c) Do not pass in restricted areas: Drivers shall not pass in areas marked with solid lines, on curves, hills, intersections, pedestrian crosswalks, or where visibility is limited.
(d) Return to lane safely: After overtaking, drivers shall return to their lane only when there is adequate space between their vehicle and the passed vehicle.
(e) Unsafe or prohibited passing constitutes a traffic violation.
Violation of this subsection is a Level 4 Infraction.
