(6)4.4.6 Destruction of Airport Equipment

A person is guilty of Destruction of Airport Equipment under this subsection if he or she willfully:
(a) damages, disables, tampers with, or destroys any equipment, facility, or system used in airport operations; and
(b) does so without lawful authority or consent; and
(c) the act creates a substantial risk to the safety of airport personnel, passengers, or the public, or materially interferes with lawful airport operations.
(d) Definition of “Airport Equipment”: For purposes of this subsection, “airport equipment” includes, but is not limited to:
- Airfield lighting systems, runway/taxiway signage, and navigation aids;
- Aircraft handling and ground support equipment;
- Security systems, communication systems, and radar installations;
- Terminals, hangars, control towers, or other facilities essential to safe airport operation;
- Any infrastructure necessary for the lawful, safe, and effective functioning of airport activities.
Destruction of Airport Equipment is a Class B+ Felony.
