(4)6.9.2 Motions Following Verdict

(a) Motion for Judgment Notwithstanding the Verdict (JNOV).
- Either party may move for JNOV if they believe the verdict is legally unsupported by the evidence.
- The court shall rule based on the evidence presented and applicable law without retrying the case.
(b) Motion for New Trial.
- A party may move for a new trial on grounds such as procedural error, juror misconduct, newly discovered evidence, or other substantial irregularities.
- The court shall evaluate whether the alleged error materially affected the verdict or trial fairness.
(c) Other Post-Verdict Motions.
- Motions to correct clerical errors, clarify verdicts, or address ambiguities may be filed.
- The court shall resolve such motions promptly to prevent delay in subsequent proceedings.
