(a) Elements of Offense.
The court shall review each offense charged, including the necessary elements that must be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.
(b) Consideration of Evidence.
Jurors shall be instructed on how to properly consider:
- direct and circumstantial evidence;
- testimony of witnesses, including credibility assessments; and
- exhibits and other admitted materials.
(c) Verdict Procedure.
The court shall instruct the jury regarding:
- deliberation procedures;
- requirements for unanimous or special verdicts; and
- returning the verdict to the court.
(d) Special Considerations.
Where applicable, the court may provide additional instructions regarding:
- lesser-included offenses;
- multiple counts or defendants;
- aggravating and mitigating factors relevant to sentencing; and
- use of non-propensity evidence or limiting instructions.
