(7)4.1.4 Headlights & Brake Lights
A driver shall not operate a motor vehicle on a public roadway unless the vehicle’s headlights and brake lights are fully functional and used in accordance with law. Headlights and brake light requirements include:
(a) Headlights must be operational and used during nighttime, adverse weather, or any condition reducing visibility, and must comply with applicable beam and brightness standards.
(b) Brake lights must be operational and illuminate whenever the driver applies the vehicle’s braking system to alert following traffic.
(c) Drivers shall maintain headlights and brake lights in proper condition, ensuring lenses are clean, undamaged, and unobstructed.
Violation of this subsection is a Level 2 Infraction.
